The main event of the week was the 2nd Southern Athletics League Div 1 fixture of the season, where a fine team performance saw us equal our previous result and place 2nd on the day ; also included are the Middlesex and London Schools Championships, plus Dashing Deer and Last Friday 5K races

Three Heathsiders achieved outstanding results at the Comrades Marathon at the weekend, and Rebecca Bunting was 1st woman at the South Downs 50k. Other races varied from a trail marathon, 5000m at Battersea, a 7 mile trail run, 10ks and half marathons. And of course parkruns.

This week’s report includes the SEAA Southern championships (including U18 Louis Charlwood’s promising 3rd place in the 3000 in 9:09 and U20 Dylan Mills’s 4th place in 4:17 in the 1500) a preliminary report on the southern veterans meeting in Stevenage (where our men took first place), Ivan Ross’s bronze medal and V50 club record at the British Masters, a fuller report plus plenty of pictures on the last SAL meeting at Finsbury Park and a tasty 15.36 for Sam Macaulay at the hilly Finsbury Parkrun.

This week features MYAL action from Harrow with records tumbling, plenty of marathon running from Edinburgh to South Africa. There were outstanding performances on the track at the Hurdlesfest in Chelmsford and in Loughborough Elkie Baker achieving UK Qualifying Standard for the European U18 Championships to be held this summer in Italy. Several Heathsiders also excelled at the Oxford v Cambridge varsity match as well as London University Championships.

Middlesex Champs this weekend was the big club activity of the weekend, where we came third on the medal table with some impressive results and 4 club records set.

Last weekend saw the first MYAL of the season with the club’s young athletes setting a remarkable 14 new club records while finishing 2nd to SBH.
Elsewhere there was more road race action as well as Steeplechase performances including Andy Barnes 1st place in the Victoria Park 10km.
