Ben and Chloe lead the way in Shoreditch Half

This week’s report covers the Shoreditch Half, where our 20 runners were led home by Ben Jacobs and Chloe Wilkinson,  the Sri Chinmoy Hasty Hare 5k, the Richmond Marathon, the Chiltern Wonderland 50 miler and Saturday’s Parkruns.

Saucony Run Shoreditch 2026, Half Marathon, , September 20

Ben Jacobs was the first Heathsider home in 1:17:33 in this competitive half that included more than 9,000 starters. He was followed by young Dylan Mills whose 1:20:32 made him the first U18, and Jonny Forsyth in 1:21:48, making him the second V50. Our first woman was Chloe Wilkinson in 1:27:56, followed by Emily Goessler in 1:31:32 and Orna O’Doherty in 1.32.09.

Sri Chinmoy Hasty Hare 5k, Battersea, Tuesday September 15

A bit more on this highly competitive 5k race, which we covered last week (https://www.londonheathside.org.uk/reports/road-relays-great-north-run-and-british-masters ):

Eleven of our runners were listed as getting PBs and three broke the 16-minute mark (3rd Andy Barnes, V40, 15.29, 5th the ever-green Tom Aldrred, v45, 15.41 and 7th Isaac Edwards, 15.45).

Fourteen of our runners came in under the 20-minute mark, including four of our women (Francesca Stocco, 3rd, 17.56, Helena Flippance, 12th, 18.51, Josie Hinton, V40, 13th, 18.55 and Isobel Smith, 14th, 19.26)

Saturday Chiltern Wonderland 50 miles, September 12

Francisco Sanchez reports:

‘Last Saturday I ran the CW50 organised by Centurion Running. A massive bottleneck at the start, which saw us running in single line for about 5k, held me back a bit (I was in 115th position by the first aid station at mile 10). However I managed to claw back time and ended in 29th position, 11th in V40 category, in 9h 3m.

Parkruns

One-hundred of our runners competed in  43 Parkruns last Saturday and five took first places. The quickest was Sam Macaulay who won at University Parks in 15:39. Alan O’Shea won in Finsbury Park in 17:55. Elinor East won in Kingston in 20:15 and Live Withers won at Lordship Recreation Ground in 21:55. Tom Hollis won in Newent in 20:50.
