Our Future!

London Heathside has a thriving Young Athletes group that encourages excellence and participation through a focus on technical athletic skills in a fun, safe and social environment.

Our team of dedicated coaches aim to provide new challenges at each session, so that your child will progress and enjoy the competitive opportunities that are available.

Many of our young athletes regularly compete for London Heathside in track and field, cross-country and/or road relay events. We also support children preparing for School Championships, London and County Championships plus Borough and Regional events e.g. the London Mini Marathon.

We provide coaching sessions for both primary and secondary school age-groups. Adult helpers are always welcome!

Want to try us out?

We can accept new athletes in school years 4 and 5 (from September 2022) and parents can apply now and book to attend a trial session for their child. For further details please get in touch.

Before your first session, we need you to pre-register for safeguarding purposes. Before attending a session, register and pay on our membership page and please additionally complete the registration spreadsheet below and return to Rachel Weston.

Note: Completing the forms does not guarantee a member a place, as we can only accept competing athletes and first they must attend a trial session to assess whether they are keen (not just their parents) to compete for the club, as spaces are now very limited and so we only have space for competing athletes going forward.

Our joining fees:

Junior membership ( 11-18 years) is £60 a year and is necessary if you want to train regularly at the track and compete. You’ll need to be age 11+ to become a full member.

8-11 year olds can take part in our Introduction to Athletics sessions for a termly coaching fee of £60 per term.

Competition Info:

Come winter or summer, rain or shine, you’ll see us competing. Mud, hills and track, we do it all. Here are the events we enter teams into. Check out our fixtures to see all the competitions on offer:

Track and field

Our u11s, u13s, u15s and u17s compete in the Middlesex Young Athletes League, where they’ll run, throw and jump too.

For U17 and U20 athletes the Club competes in a combined team with Highgate Harriers in the Upper Youth Development League

We also run regular Quadkids competitions throughout the year for School year 3+.

We also have a good showing at indoor Winter competitions at Lee Valley Park and at the Middlesex and South of England Championships.
