Fear not, Heathside, for Mighty Aldred has soothed our troubled minds...

Seventy-five senior Heathsiders and eleven Juniors made the trip to Uxbridge for the chance to run the little-known course at Hillingdon House farm. The weather was mild, if a bit windy, and the mystery course turned out to be a gem - one sharp hill, a long downhill stretch in compensation, and some pretty serious mud - definitely one for the cross-country specialists to fight over. Consequently, there’s plenty to report, including some superb individual and team performances. So relax, pour yourself a little Yuletide drinkie, and enjoy the tales of Heathside derring-do from the farmyard. But be warned: every Christmas fairy tale has its dark side!

Heathside win Fraternity Cup and Beckford receives award

In an exciting Saturday afternoon at Trent Park, with an enthusiastic Heathside turnout, we won the Fraternity Cup for a second consecutive year. The other big excitement of the week was that Lily Beckford is to be congratulated on being selected as Haringey’s Junior Sports Performer of the Year. Wonderful news Lily, and very well deserved!

GOLDEN OLDIES storm the Charts!

It was a fairly quiet week for results, possibly due to it being the “lull” between the end of the Summer race season and the beginning of the pre-London Marathon preparers, plus there were no Cross-Country fixtures either. For those who did run, especially on Sunday morning, it was in very wet and windy, though still quite mild, weather conditions (in the London area, at any rate). Any results that have come to light seem to be dominated by our Veteran runners, especially at the Stevenage Marathon. Guess it was the younger members turn to have a lie-in!
