Sunday League on 17th December at Willian

Laura Boothman writes
'A huge festive thanks to the 22 Heathsiders and our guest who made it to Willian for the third of the Sunday League XC series on 17 December. Not only one of the remoter fixtures, it was also a brutal 10 am start and the morning after the Christmas do. Just getting to the start - almost a mile for the meeting point – felt medal worthy. But undeterred by all that, there were some brilliant individual efforts including a debut XC run, several new faces this season and our very trusty regulars. Well done every one!

On the day, the Ladies A and B teams both finished 3rd, and masters 4th. The Mens A, B and masters were 11th,10th and 9th respectively. So - after 3 of the 5 fixtures, the Ladies A are in 2nd place (just 6 points behind Garden City Runners so there’s really nothing in it); the Ladies B are holding 1st place and Ladies masters are in 4th. Our Mens A team is 10th, B team 8th and masters 8th. Overall, combined, we’re 8th of 20 teams in the league. But most of all we just hope you enjoyed it!

2018 will see us taking on Watford and the ‘Royston Rollercoaster’ - all are welcome, and if you’re new to XC please do give it a try. In the meantime, here’s to the New Year – run happy!'
