Saturday saw one of the early highlights of the cross country season: the London Championships at Parliament Hill. The resurgent Rebecca Piggott led the ladies team to another victory, while the men acquitted themselves well without some of their best runners.

The Cabbage Patch 10 had the second biggest turnout of Heathsiders (some brave folk doubling up here and at the XC) and there were some fantastic results.

Read MoreHeathsiders headed en masse to Victoria Park for the latest instalment of the club road racing championships, with Tom Aldred leading the way in 32 minutes. The most celebrated result of the day though was Rebecca Piggott blistering her way to a 38-minute finish and collecting the county gold - a truly impressive return from injury problems.
