14 Club Records set at the MYAL in Perivale
Last weekend saw the first MYAL of the season with the club’s young athletes setting a remarkable 14 new club records while finishing 2nd to SBH.
Elsewhere there was more road race action as well as Steeplechase performances including Andy Barnes 1st place in the Victoria Park 10km.

The first MYAL of the season saw the new Age Groups used for the first time. As for the last few seasons the team finished 2nd behind SBH. The U16 Girls did win their age group with all others 2nd.
As always highly competitive wins were hasrd to come by but Leonard Hewings (U16B SP, DT), Olorunfemi Obada (U14B 200m) and Rhoswen Keeping (U16G SP) all secured event wins for the team.
The remarkable achievement however were the number of New Club Records Set and 7 level 9 PB Standard:-
U16 Boys:- Leonard Hewings (DT 38.03m), Gabriel Edwards (100mH 14.02s)
U16 Girls:- Matilda Barrand (80mH 13.17s), Myla Miller (100m 12.59s/200m 26.07s (w+2.2m/s))
U14 Boys:- Idris Zalli (80mH 16.72s)
U14 Girls:- Abena Boyer (75mH 12.11s)
U12 Boys:- Dominik Jeles (SP 6.48m), Elliot Murray (LJ 3.54m), Nat Buchan (75mH 16.11s/800m 2m 38.9s)
U12 Girls:- Maya Odulate (SP 3.60m), Olivia Zalli (LJ 3.70m), Lizzy Paitoo (70mH 15.07s)

Ben Montilla reports on his recent race :- “A PB of 4:06:32 in the Stratford upon Avon Shakespeare RunThrough Marathon on a good - mainly flat - countryside course of a few inclines and a couple of long gravel path sections, in similar London Marathon sun and a small, model traffic, cycling track - similar to Lordship Rec. of bygone years with working compact modern traffic lights - lines the course before the finishing straight! The winner was a 2:30 time.”

One Hundred and thirty Heathsiders competed in Parkruns last Saturday. There were wins for Alan O’Shea (Brooklyn Bridge), Lily Woolcock (Finsbury Park 19.44), Isobel Smith (Ashbourne Rec Grd 21.32) and Liv Withers (Queenswood Country Park 24.11). Alan’s time was the fastest by a heathsider just ahead of Jonny Forsyth’s 27.27 at Finsbury Park.
