Sunday League Grovelands Park

Heathsiders were greeted with a bright and sunny morning and almost perfect conditions for the 2nd Sunday league event of the the season at Grovelands Park Southgate, and were rewarded by some fine individual and team results, helped by a large turnout of 46 runners.

The highlight would be the Women's A team, taking 2nd place on the day and maintaining their 2nd place in the overall ranking after 2 of the 5 events, again led home again by Liz, closely followed by Satu. The Men's A team also performed creditably to finish 6th on the day (7th overall ), aided by Esa's strong run and good packing behind.  Heathside lie 7th in the Combined result out of 19 teams.  A full list of the numerous team classifications can be found on the runherts.com website (http://runherts.com/), but it is also worth noting that our B teams and Masters teams also performed strongly, with the Women's B team now leading their category after 2 events, while the Masters team lies 3rd. All the men's teams finished in the top 6 on the day. Hopefully we can have a similarly good turnout in forthcoming races to maintain these results.

Also a special noteworthy effort was made by those the runners who participated in the so called " dirty double " over the weekend including the previous day’s Met League, and commemorated the occasion with their own special photo; and captain Laura's cakes and buns were much appreciated.
