Battersea Half, Battersea Park, 14.2.26
A packed Valentine's Day event on a bright, cold morning in Battersea Park saw six Heathsiders complete the half, which was a dizzying 8 ¾ laps, finishing on the track. Runners had to contend with weaving through a packed field, especially once the 10k race joined the field of runners, but conditions were otherwise ideal on a flat course.
The results were as follows:
Matt Beard 1:26
Sarah Swinhoe 1:28 (1st V55)
Oliver Stevenson 1:28
Aaron Smith 1:36 (PB)
Rebecca Taylor 1:37
Natasha Ferenczy 1:38

Bramley 20-mile, Bramley, Hants, Sunday February 14
Gavin Evans reports “I was the only Heathsider to run in the Bramley 2- mile race (and there were none in the 10-miler, which started at the same time), which was not surprising, given the conditions: bitterly cold, constant rain, huge puddles that were like mini-lakes and plenty of mud. I ran the first half in 1:11:30 which was as intended, but after that the wheels fell off and I hobbled home in 2:38:37. Still, it was a good starter pack for the Manchester Marathon in nine weeks' time.”
