Ultra X Wales 25K 25.07.2026

Ania Borowska-Sonmez took part in a trail race in Wales and reported back “The Ultra X Wales 25k is a race set in the Black Mountains near Abergavenny. "25k" being more of a suggestion than a fact, with the route covering 30k and 1400m elevation gain. Relentless climbs, steep rocky descents, and stretches pushing through overgrown fern-covered hillsides made for a proper Welsh trail day: scenic, remote, and gritty.”

Despite the testing conditions Ania had a brilliant race and was 4th woman and 3rd in age.

England Athletics Age Group Championships, Bedford, 25-26.7.26

Simon Baker reported: “The last domestic Track and Field Championships took place at the weekend at the newly refurbished Bedford International Athletics Stadium.  However with many of the best U18s who competed the previous week at the European U18 Championships missing it offered an opportunity for others to win national titles.  Sadly a number of Heathsiders U16 medal contenders such as Charlie Nicolson opted not to enter.  Of the Heathsiders who did take part Gabriel Edwards finished 5th in heat and didn't progress, Mkel Alexander qualified from his heat but drawn in lane 1 for the semi final he couldn't make the final.  A very tired Elkie Baker led the Discus until round 4 but could not respond in the final rounds finishing in 2nd.”
