Simon Baker sent in the following report from Parlianent Hill:
“For the 4th season in a row London Heathside finished 2nd behind Shaftesbury Barnet in the MYAL by only 18 pts (last year the gap was 51 pts. Demonstrated by the Club finishing just 1 point behind SBH at the last meeting held at Parliament Hill. There were age group wins for the U14 Girls and both U16 Boys and Girls. There were 13 event wins; Abena Boyer (U14G 75mH), Edith Deakin (U14G HJ), Ajoke Bello (U14G SP & HT), Amara Charles (U16G 300m), Matilda Barrand (U16G 80mH & DT), Darcey Spencer (U16G JT), Alex Kirk (U16B 1500m), Balays Dardai (U16B HJ) and Leonard Hewings (U16B SP, DT & HT). Edith Deakin set a new Club and League record with her 1.45m in the High Jump, and Ajoke set a club record in the Hammer with 20.93m. Leonard Hewings 12.33m in the Shot Putt was a League Best.
Well done again to all the athletes that competed this season as well as their coaches, team managers and parents for their support. “

Simon Baker sent the following report from Finsbury Park:
“The Young Athletes closed off their Club league season with the last UYDL match hosted at Finsbury Park. The match was on a re-arranged date as the allocated date was the day after the English Schools Championships. There was alot riding on the match with Shaftesbury Barnet looking for promotion back to the Premiership with us closely behind looking to win the division.
Despite numbers denuded by school holidays, there were plenty of fantastic performances, two league records were broken and there were a host of national champions and athletes who had taken part in the European U18 Championships. There were 9 event wins Montana Dennis (U20M 110mH, SP, HT), Dylan Mills (U18M 1500m, DT), Magdeline Paitoo (U20W 400mH), Mikel Alexander (U18M 100m), Nicole Stewart (U18W 400m) and Amelie Randall (U18W 1500m).
The final scores saw the club finish 2nd to SBH who confirmed their promotion however with 25,000 performance points the Club confirmed itself as the 3rd best of all the Southern Clubs outside the Premiership.”
