45 Heathsiders race in Battersea Mile Relay

This was a big week for Heathside’s runners. Our rising U13 star Abena Boyer represented Middlesex at the U13 Inter-counties match, winning the 70m hurdles in 11:75. At the Watford Open on August 6 the outstanding performance included Thomas Archer’s 3rd place in the 800 me in a time of 1:56: 03 and Rich Macaulay PB of 9:04:57 in the 3000m. Other outstanding performances included a double act: William De Cothi came third in the Battersea 5k in a big PB of 15:19, followed by Christopher Gracie in 15:31, and a week earlier at the same venue they were the first two club members in the Battersea Mile Relay (4:28 and 4:34). Our first woman (third overall) in the relays was Anna Rawsthorne in 5:06. Another impressive miler was Tom Aldred, who picked up a PB of 4:42 in winning the Ealing Mile - not bad for a 46-year-old.
