Read MoreThe Cancer Research Winter 10K in Central London was one of the few races that wasn’t cancelled this weekend due to icy roads and tow paths. Many Heathsiders were due to race the Watford H/M and Regents Pk 10K, instead they nursed Bat Mitzvah hangovers, or stayed in bed, or went out on long distance training runs.

Read MoreThis weeks report is dominated by the Southern XC championships. The highlights were a silver medal for the Men’s U20 team, the best position since 1975 ! and a 4th place near miss on the medals from the Senior Women, both great achievements especially when set in the historical context.

Although there are only 3 events to report on, the quality made up for it, with Rosa Serafini setting a new club record at the indoor 800m, numerous PBs in the first race of the club road race series at St Albans, and a great run in the Victoria Park 10k by Jessica Vinluan.

Read MoreThe New Year’s Eve revelries seemed to have little impact on the obsessive mania of Heathsiders, not for just running, but for competing too. Aside from the 84 of us who took part in Parkruns, eleven more raced the Serpentine New Year 10k and five took part in the Lee Valley New Year Open - 100 in all. Not bad for a Tuesday morning.
Read MoreAfter trawling through the billions of results on Power of 10, I could see no Heathsiders taking part in anything that week. Everyone was either still recovering from the Xmas bash or they were busy preparing for the festivities and buying their Xmas gifts on Amazon.
Read MoreThe 3rd Fixture took the Sunday League team to Stevenage. A good turnout was achieved despite the out of town venue, with special kudos to those who participated after attending the Christmas party the night before.
