The latest outing in the Rob Jackson Road Race Championships was the Sri Chinmoy Mile Relays in Battersea Park, wherein teams of three rack up a trio of miles apiece in the search for fruit. (Being all about self transcendence, the organisers give you healthful foods as a prize, instead of materialistic trinkets.)

FASTFriday - Heathside let off steam in E17 + loads more

An absolutely bumper set of results this week as Heathsiders showed no signs of winding down for their beach holidays just yet, instead turning out far and wide to keep me busy, including pitching up mob-handed at the FASTFriday, tackling some duathlon action, forging on with an ongoing 10-mile challenge, competing in a frankly hideous – sorry, gruelling – sounding ultra-steeplechase event and the usual smattering of runs at the regular 5 and 10k races around London.

Old men and ultras

An overdue report with two weeks of races to include going all the way back to May 22 when an intrepid bunch of our veterans made their way to Stevenage to run, jump and throw in the Southern Veterans League, with first places for Ed Garrett, Tony Killilea, Adrian Essex, Jessica Vinluan and our men’s 4 x 400 meter relay team.
