Heathside's alphas in fraternity success

Heathside’s near domination of the North London cross country scene continued apace this week, though this time out at the Fraternity Cup it was a couple of individual results that stood out most as James Wooldridge and Adam Kirk-Smith captured a fantastic 1-2 in the men’s race. The women weren’t far behind though, led home by Rebecca Bunting making a welcome return to Heathside colours. More on the Trent Park races from Captain Chris shortly.

Heathsiders take gold in Hackney Marshes & Trent Park

Heathsiders triumphed in the Hackney Marshes mud and rain at the North London Cross-Country Championships on Saturday, taking home both team winners’ trophies. Our four A-team women (Rachel Newstead, Cas Wright, Leah Michaels and Bethany Scott) were in the top 15 as were our six A-team men (Adam Kirk Smith, Andrew Brooker, James Woodridge, Andy Barnes, Martin Potter and Chris Norris) plus Tom Livermore. Our vets also took double gold, led by Martin among the men and Ourida Sid among the women.

Results round-up

A relatively quiet weekend race-wise, with no XC fixtures. The main event for the club was the Stevenage Half, the penultimate event in the Club’s Rob Jackson Road Race Championships, in which Sandra Buckton increased her lead at the top of the Womens, and Robert Bowler picked up some very valuable points to bolster his 2nd position and challenge current leader Andy Barnes in the Mens.
