After the excitement of part two of our club championships on Tuesday the weekend was relatively low key as far as competitive outings by Heathsiders are concerned. The Middlesex Young Athlete road relays were the only club fixture taking place, while further afield Dan and Jayne were fell running again and Ruth pulled off a quality tri in Bala.
Read MoreThis first weekend in September was an extremely busy one for many Heathsiders, with the last Southern Athletics League meeting, local aquathlons and duathlons, and marathons in the French Alps to name a few. The big event of the weekend was clearly the final fixture for the SAL 2012, which was held in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, where we racked up the club's biggest points total of any SAL fixture this summer, and ended up coming 8th overall in the season which means we have been promoted to Division 2 status for 2013.

Read MoreWe witnessed a brace of impressive performances by London Heathsiders over the past week – with our runners giving their blood, toil, tears and sweat (well, maybe not too much of their blood) on muddy fields, wind-swept tracks, water-logged roads, and for the mad few, the seas and oceans too.
Read MoreLily Beckford clocked a sub-60 second 400m on Wednesday to move into the top 20 UK rankings for her age group. Knocking 2.65s off her previous PB she ran 59.68s to win her race at the Watford Graded Open. That time places her at number 19 in the U17 400m rankings.
Read MoreStar performer this weekend was Jacob Wilson with a bronze medal-winning long jump in the South of England U20 Champs at Crystal Palace, although with a first place age group finish for Jackie Wastell in the Bournemouth tri, LICC PBs, and more great running by Elspeth the good news doesn’t end there.
