At least six Heathsiders toed the line at UK marathons this weekend despite absolutely miserable conditions, while some decided it was just too grim to even bother. On the continent fine weather blessed those running in Hamburg, where Mike Lee achieved a whopping PB.
Read MoreAfter a week of worrying about rain and cold temperatures conditions could hardly have been better for this year’s London Marathon and Heathside was out in full force with 35 crossing the finish line, split almost perfectly evenly between our male and female runners. We saw terrific performances from Tom Aldred, George Stewart and Matt Convery, with Katy Webster and Sarah Swinhoe leading the ladies, both the latter right on their sub 3 hour targets. With 7 of our runners breaking 3 hours, and 5 ladies finishing in under 3h30m we had an excellent day overall.

Dan Madams ran a perfectly timed race in Rotterdam, I hear, to post the fastest time of the weekend for our lot, while Sandra was unlucky enough to land a faulty chip in Paris, but will hopefully be consoled by a great self-timed run of 3:40:57.
