Not the Met League or the Sunday League

There was a massive double helping of cross country at the weekend with the 2nd Met League on Saturday held in Stevenage and the Sunday League the following day held more locally in Grovelands Park. Both had a great turnout. BUT while we wait with bated breath for these reports to appear, here is the best of the rest.

Cancer Research Tough 10K, Hughendon Manor, 12.11.16
Simon Hazel making yet another comeback from his achilles tendonitis, ran at the Cancer Research Tough 10k at Hughendon Manor in High Wycombe in Saturday morning's torrential rain. He reported back “It was a really good opportunity to test myself on some hills and find out I'm really not ready for cross country yet. Taking it easy on the ups and hard on the downhills (there wasn't much flat!) I finished in 26th place (of 328) in 53:30 mins."

Endurance Life Half Marathon, Gower, 12.11.16
Audi Andruskeviciute was 5th woman in the Endurance Life Half marathon, in the Gower Peninsula in Swansea in a time of 2.03.13

Parkruns

Parkrun results for the weekend can be found here- with a rather smaller turnout than usual as would be expected.  Leigh was first woman at Finsbury Parkrun in 19.55, Pete Northall was 1st in a time of 17.30 at Kettering Parkrun, and on the other side of the world Ursula Wilson (still flying the flag for Heathside at parkruns) was 1st woman in 23.57 in the Orange parkrun, in New South Wales, Australia. And I think Jonathan Litchfield wins the prize for most races over the weekend – as he raced at Highbury Fields Parkrun, as well as the Met League and the Sunday League!!!
