2025 Annual Review - Part 2
The 2nd part of the annual review features the climax of the Track and Field season with the club excelling at the SAL and celebrating a National Champion. Autumn brought more Road running success before XC recommenced and another successful Middlesex Championships to book mark the year.
July
The UYDL Team after their Finsbury Park Victory
The club hosted the last UYDL meeting of the seasonat Finsbury Park. For the 1st time ever the team won a YDL match. In addition the win ensured the team finished top of the division and gained promotion. Based on performance points the team ranked 23rd of all UK Clubs.
Sam Macaulay won the Eryri (Snowdonia) Trial Marathon. Ed Boden finshed 6th in the Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon. in brutally hot conditions Steve Pennington, finished 1st V50 in the Race to the Stones, Lewknor.
The 3rd SAL Match was also held at Finsbury Park as host club TVH could not use the Linford Christie Stadium. Another host of great performances saw the team finish in 3rd place behind league leaders TVH. Wayne Morley (3000mSC) was the only event winner.
The English Schools Athletics Association celebrated their centenary at their Championships in Birmingham. A total of 8 Heathsider’s took part in very hot conditions. Trey Corlis and Montana Dennis both made the 110mH final and Gabriel Edwards won a silver in the Essex JB 4x100m team. After winning silver last year Elkie Baker went one better winning the IG Discus title with a throw of 39.91m.
August

The last MYAL of the season took place at Parliament Hill. This was the last league match before next years age group changes and the league will become U12, U14 and U16. The team again finished 2nd. As a result we were runners-up in the overall league standings behind defending Champions Shaftesbury Barnet..
In torrential rain, Elkie Baker finished 3rd in the SIAB International in Derby and helping English Schools to a convincing victory over Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Leon Seale won U23 Bronze in the 200m at the EA Championships in Birmingham.
William Di Cothi was 3rd in the Sri Chinmoy 5km in Battersea. He also ran the 6th fastest leg the Sri Chinmoy road relays with 45 Heathsiders taking part in this annual event. Andrew Barnes was 1st at the Run Through Regents Park race with Anna Rawstone the 1st woman. Anthony Roach finished 165th in the Sydney Marathon.
Abena Boyer (U13G) won her first county vest in the Derek Crookes Inter-Counties meeting competing in the 75mH.
Elkie Baker became a double National Champion winning the England Athletics U17W Discus title with a throw of 41.41m. Gabriel Edwards (U15B 80mH) and Malakai (U17M 100mH) both made their respective finals in the Alexander Stadium.
5 of the Club’s relay teams qualified and took part in the EA National Relay Championships in Birmingham.
The Club finished the SAL season with a 4th place in the last meeting in Norwich, although there were plenty of great performances Elkie Baker was the only event winner. This result insured the club finished in our debut season 9th overall in Division 1.
September
Ivan Ross in the Masters Pole Vault
September saw attention return to road racing. Sam Macaulay finished 15th in the Big Half. Seyfu Jamaal was 10th in the Great North Run. Elsewhere Isaac Edwards was 2nd in the Last Friday of the Month Race. In a busy month Seyfu was 4th in the Vitality 10km while Amy Kirk (U17W) set a new U20W Club record.
Rebecca Marshall took part in the Dolomites Trial Race. Monika Newton finished 3rd woman at the Bieg na Piatke in Gdansk.
9 Heathsiders took part in the Hampstead Heath Pondathon.
Charlie Nicolson set a new U15B 3000m record of 8:54.77 at Watford.
The U17 Men and U17 Women won the Middlesex Road Relays with 2nd places by U20M and U15B.
The U15 Boys finished 3rd in the Southern Road Relays in Aldershot.
The Men’s Vet Team took part in the Southern Vets League Final in Oxford.
Noelle O’Regan won bronze in the V35 200m at the British Masters Championships in Derby.
The 2025/26 Cross Country Season started with the first NWLL at Wormwood Scrubs with wins for the U17M, U17W and U13G teams. Dylan Mills won the U17 Men’s race.
October
Club Members at the Middlesex 10Km
The Club had a dominant Middlesex County 10Km Championships winning both the Senior Man’s and Women’s titles. Sam Macaulay, Tom Aldred and Tsegay Berhane filled the first 3 places, Rebecca Piggott won the Senior Women’s race.
Sam Macaulay won the 1st Chingford League race at the Velo Park. Francesca Stocco was 5th woman.
The U15 Boys were 6th in the National Road Relays Championships in Sutton Coldfield.
The Young Athlete team held their inaugural Track and Field Awards.
The first Met League of the season saw the Senior Woman 2nd with Rebecca Piggott 2nd. The senior men finished in 3rd.
Adrian Essex took part in the European masters Championships in Portugal.
The U15 Boys finished with silver at the Southern XC Relays, the Senior Women were 6th and Men 9th,
The Senior Men and Women both won the North London Cross Country Championships with Sam Macaulay 1st and Barry Kelly 2nd. In the Woman’s race Eva Divetain was in 2nd place.
November
Rose Schofield (U17W), Dylan Mills (U17M) and Filip Kounoupas Prastalo (U15B) won their respective NWLL races at Fryent Park.
Heathside’s Men took 1st place in the London Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill with Seyfu taking the individual title. The Women were just outside the medals in 4th.
In the LYG Cross Country Charlie Nicolson won silver in the U15 Boys race and with Alex Kirk and James Maguire help Haringey also win team silver
Rebecca Piggott was 2nd in the Met League race at Horsenden Hills. The Senior Men’s Team were 4th and the Women’s 2nd. Charlie Nicolson won the Junior Men’s Race.
Peter Gould finished 2nd in the Fraternity Cup at Trent Park. Lettice Gundry and Dylan Mills won the U17 races.
Charlie Nicolson was 2nd in the U15 Boys race at the SEAA Inter-Counties race. Monika Newton was 1st woman at the Run through 5km at Regents Park.
Rebecca Piggott won the V35 category at the British Masters 5km Championships while Seyfu finished 8th in the RunThrough Fulham 10km race.
December
Senior Women’s Team after retaining their County Title
Rebecca Bunting returned from injury to finish 2nd in the Met League at Wormwood Scrubs with Rebecca Piggott in 3rd place. The Senior Women were 2nd and Senior Men 5th. Tony Killiea won the mixed race.
Sam Macaulay was the fastest Heathside finisher at the Valencia Marathon. Tom Aldred was the 1st V45 at the Malaga Marathon, Andy Barnes was 9th in the half Marathon with Jessica Prior 12th woman.
The season ended how it started with the Middlesex XC Championships held at a sunny Hillingdon. Thomas Archer became the first Heathsider to win the Senior Men’s Title helping the Men to 2nd place. The Women retained their title they won in January from Thames Valley Harriers. Fred Beale won the U20 Men’s title with George Saint in 2nd place and led the team to the Team trophy. The U17W and U15B both won their races with Filip Kounoupas Prastalo (U15B) winning a bronze.
Seyfu, representing the Refugee Team, finished 57th in the European Cross Country Championships in Portugal.
