Seyfu leads Heathside men to London Cross-Country Champs victory
This was a fine week for our cross-country runners, both junior and senior. At the London Cross-Country Championships at Hampstead Heath our men’s team (headed by Seyfu Jamaal, who took first place) won the event and our women’s team (headed by Rebecca Piggott, who took seventh place) came fourth. At the London Youth Games, also at Hampstead, U15 Charlie Nicolson took the silver medal and led the Haringey boys to a silver team medal.

London Youth Games, Parliament Hill, Saturday November 8.
Simon Baker reports:
The club was well represented at the annual London Youth Games at Hampstead Heath which is an inter-borough competition. Indeed, 10 percent of the athletes in the U17 women were Heathsiders.
Run over relatively short distances with big fields, these are difficult races to perform in. Charlie Nicolson produced the best individual performance winning silver in the U15 Boys and with Alex Kirk and James Macguire also won team silver for Haringey. Other top 20 finishes were recorded by Filip Kounoupas Prastalo (U15B), Dylan Mills (U17M) and Kiara Corkin (U17W).
