Stevenage Half, North London XC Champs and Wendover 10

6.11.19. A strangely quiet weekend for early November - but we made up in quality what was missing in quantity. In the Wendover 10, Heathside placed 5 of the top 8 in the men's race, and Louisa was 2nd Lady, Andy Barnes was third in the Stevenage Half, Annabel had a great run in the New York Marathon and in the North London XC champs Roger Maidment came home 3rd man and Evangelista Divertain was second woman.

Wendover 10, Wendover, 03.11.19
Lenny reported: "It was a very successful day out for Heathside at the Wendover Woods 10 mile race. A very hilly, muddy trail race. We placed 5 of the top 8 in the men's race, including a clean sweep of the podium positions, and Louisa was 2nd in the women's race. Tom Bedwell was also 1st V40, so 5 of the six Heathsiders entered took home silverware."

Stevenage Half Marathon, Stevenage, 3.11.19
Three Heathsiders took part in the Stevenage Half on Sunday. It’s a two lap undulating course, through parklands and some roads – well marshalled, with cakes and tea and medals and a t-shirt for all finishers. Andy Barnes came third (he was wearing extremely fancy running shoes!), Steve wasn’t far off from his PB, which was pretty good 2 weeks after completing Amsterdam marathon and Caroline won a 1st VW60 trophy.

New York Marathon, 3.11.19
Annabel Litchfield completed the New York Marathon in a great time of 3.15.40

Deal Castle 5, Deal, 3.11.19
Steve Woolf and Martin Potter took Part in the Deal Castle 5, it was Steve’s first race in more than a year and Martin came home 2nd M50

Mornington Chasers Regents Park 10km, Regents Park. 03.11.19

Joe McKeown and Simon Nichols were the only two Heathside representatives at the Regents Park 10K on Sunday, with Joe leading the pair home in a nifty time of 36.39.

North London XC Champs, Wormwood Scrubs, London 02.11.19
Jonathan L reported back: "Heathside headlines were a 2nd place finish by Evangelista Divetain in the Women's Race and 3rd for Roger Maidment in the Men's (1st Vet). Roger also led Heathside's Male Vets (M40+) to victory in the team race.

The Men and Women both ran a little over 8k and there was just about enough wind, rain and mud for the largely flat Scrubs to feel like a proper cross country course. The real challenge was having to run around the Scrubs in an anti-clockwise direction. Heresy!" Full results are below.

Parkrun results can be found here. Seyfu came first man in 15.42, and Emily Reichert first lady in 19.46 at Highbury Fields, Joel Northcott was first man at Gawler parkrun in a time of 18.17.
