There was a big turn-out for the London marathon last Sunday, with sixty two Heathsiders completing thr course.  With perfect conditions, there were numerous outstanding runs with many PBs.  Kader Seyed  led Heathsiders home in an amazing time of 2:22.4.  He was followed shortly afterwards by  Simon Gardiner (2:30.3) and James Hurrell (2:30.0).  Rebecca Bunting was first Heathside woman, finishing in 2:41.1 and coming an astonishing 8th woman and second in her age category, followed soon by Rebecca Piggott (2:45.4).  Sarah Swinhoe’s run was equally impressive, coming 3rd in the V50 category in 2:51.4.  Rebecca Bunting and Sarah set new club records in their age category. Veteran of many marathons, Gavin Evans reported that he ran the marathon with a streaming cold, nevertheless finishing in an enviable time of 3:11.13.  Congratulations to all Heathsiders who finished, - completing the training and reaching the finish line is an achievement to be proud of!
