Vets Team Scale and Stature

“As the club continues to grow in scale and stature with its sold out open meetings the Vets team plays its part.

This week the team has certainly grown in scale, with the addition of the W60 age group, and it grows in stature as the men's team won another league match to top the table with one match to go, while the women's team achieved a remarkable second place.

For the first time ever the women's team was able to field athletes in all 4 age groups in both the 100 and 400 metres. There are clips of the four in their respective 100m races (Gokce, Caroline, Dulce and Sue) on the facebook group.

As for club records - we are growing accustomed to Pete's demolition of a record at every meeting and he didn't disappoint over 5000m. Mark George and Mark Jefford both took part inthe M50 triple jump and Mark G set a new club record.

Our W60s both set records, though Caroline White's 400m mark only lasted until the next race when Sue Eedle overtook it. Sue ended up with three records, in the 100m, 400m and javelin. Ruth got a record in the 1500m, Satu in the Shot and Mary Helene in the Hammer.”
