Double Individual and Team Gold for Heathside at the London Champs

20.11.19   The weekend brought historic success in the form of wins in the individual races at the London Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill to Rebecca Piggott and Seyfu Jamaal respectively. Sefyu also picked up the U20 prize for good measure, and Heathside won both the mens and womens team competitions!

In addition, at the London Youth Games event competed at Borough level at the same venue, a number of Heathsiders formed part of medal winning team performances by the U13 Haringey girls and U17 Hackney boys teams

Heathside juniors and senior women win in Welwyn

13.11.19 This week’s big event was the second Met league cross-country race in Welwyn, which saw a huge club turnout (94 adults and 29 juniors) and many fantastic performances, including wins for the senior women and junior teams, and first place finishes for Thomas Archer and Ben Redland among the juniors.

Stevenage Half, North London XC Champs and Wendover 10

6.11.19. A strangely quiet weekend for early November - but we made up in quality what was missing in quantity. In the Wendover 10, Heathside placed 5 of the top 8 in the men's race, and Louisa was 2nd Lady, Andy Barnes was third in the Stevenage Half, Annabel had a great run in the New York Marathon and in the North London XC champs Roger Maidment came home 3rd man and Evangelista Divertain was second woman.

Bunting wins at Beachy Head / Tom and Mimi win at NoTT Cross Country

Headline successes this week for Tom Archer and Mimi Blake in the U17 events at the North of the Thames Champs and Rebecca Bunting at the Beachy Head marathon. Elsewhere, Mike Stocks had the honour of representing team GB & NI and taking on the world's best ultramarathoners at the IAU 24 Hour World Championships event in France and there was a sub-16 time for Jem O'Flaherty at the monthly Serpentine 5k race.
