Here’s a belated report for week ending 23/12. After trawling through the billions of results on Power of 10, I could see no Heathsiders taking part in anything that week. Everyone was either still recovering from the Xmas bash or they were busy preparing for the festivities and buying their Xmas gifts on Amazon. (Other online retailers are available). I personally broke an impressive 3 Christmas Shopping PBs that week, first arriving at Brent Cross on the Thursday at 8.45am and leaving by 11.15am. I would go on to take a further 10 minutes and 5 minutes off, on the Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Although there were no actual racing results bar some good Parkrun performances, the Strava feed was still awash with fantastic training from many Heathsiders. The Sunday 9am Group took an away day excursion to the Ashridge estate for a long grueling offroader. I personally swerved this to 1) nurse my sore hamstring and 2) concentrate on my mince pie consumption.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas Break. You should all be proud on your 2018 achievements. We have a great club and 2018 has seen amazing performances and hard work across all the categories. Well done to EVERYONE. Whether you are winning races or coming back from injury or doing your best on the day with what you’ve got, you ALL deserve to be bigged up. Of course, as participants, we wouldn’t be able to take part in races without the time and effort given to us by the wonderful volunteers and folks behind the scenes at the club. On behalf of everyone who takes part in a race – thank you volunteers x x x
Looking ahead to 2019 – lets keep the flag flying, the winter training cycle is upon us and we’re not getting any younger. Good luck to everyone.
