Please ensure that your HTML is standards compliant (HTML 4.01 standard) and that your pages are accessible and easy to read when viewed at different screen resolutions.
Use the links in the right navigation bar to activate or de-activate standards icons at the bottom of the page. Click these icons to access automated standards and accessibility checks and lists of relevant manual check points.
Copy and paste into your own pages the relevant source code from others that provides a display effect which you wish to use. Use indented formatting and comments so that others can read your own source code easily.
If you can't test your pages without uploading them, first upload them to a temporary folder which mirrors the one in which they should appear (but with a different name) and test them here. If you still somehow break a page or a section of the site and can't fix it, contact one of the other updaters for help or ask to have the backup restored.
Speak to the other updaters for advice on editing programs. Some WYSIWYG web page editors generate non-standard HTML and so are to be avoided.
