Road Races
In addition to organised race series such as the Club Championship, club members regularly compete in road races throughout the UK and abroad. Distances may range from 1 mileto marathons and beyond.
Participation is therefore more on an individual basis as opposed to team entries organised by the club. Popular races such as the Cabbage Patch 10 and of course the Virgin London Marathon always have large numbers of Heathsiders competing.
Road runners are encouraged to enter the various races included in the Rob Jackson Road Race Championships which is a series of races selected by the club each year. Members enjoy these races as an opportunity to race with fellow Heathsiders and score points in the Championship table.
A selection of prominent road race fixtures for 2011-2012 is available: Fixtures 2011-12 (pdf)
A useful source of information about upcoming events is the Runners World website, which includes a searchable index of future races.
