Those of you fortunate enough to be females under 35 or males under 40 can ignore this mail, but any of you who have reached that age and would like to run in the Southern/Middlesex Vets Cross Country Champs at Trent Park on Sunday (yes Sunday, that isn't a typo) 14th March, please read on. The timetable on the day is as follows:
1PM - Men 50-69 (10k)
2PM - Women over 35 + men over 70 (6k)
2.45PM - Men 40-49 (10k)
For the Southern Champs, individual medals will be in 5 year age groups & team medals in 10 year age groups with 3 to score. For the Middlesex Champs I don't know how the medals will be awarded, but hopefully someone official on the day will do!
If you would like to enter please let me know by midday on Friday 19th February. I will only enter people who specifically ask to be entered, so please don't just assume I will enter you anyway. It is also the Herts County Champs, so if any of you (Robin T?) consider yourself to be Herts rather than Middlesex qualified (you can't be both) then please say so and I will enter you accordingly. We've won loads of medals in these events in the past, so let's try and do so again! |

| Could you give some info about the course as I have never done any cross country but I am over 40 and could be tempted! |

I can't be precise about the course, as there are a number of potential routes in Trent Park and I don't know which one they will use. It is a fair bet that it will be quite hilly however and mainly on grass (potentially pretty muddy in parts), though with a few short sections on paths through the woods. Sorry I can't be more help.
This could be an opportunity for those of you who are busy on Saturdays to do a Cross Country, so it would be nice to see some different faces amongst the regulars. I've already got a full team and more of V50 men signed up, but not so many women or 'younger' men yet. I'm sure we will have full teams in most age categories by the time I do the entries however. |
