Junior training sessions are varied and fun. There are opportunities to try out different athletic disciplines, as well as general athletic strength and fitness activities.

A typical session might consist of the following:

  • Warm up
  • Conditioning work, including stretching, techniques & drills and mobility
  • Event specific activity
  • Warm down

    The aim of training sessions is:

  • To provide a well structured and professional coaching environment.
  • To provide training sessions that are fun and enjoyable for all athletes.
  • To provide training opportunities for a wide age range of young athletes.
  • To provide training opportunities for a wide range of athletic disciplines.
  • To provide pathways to children from school athletics into club based athletics.
  • To provide a competitive framework for young athletes in a manner that not only helps to develop athletic skills, but also helps to develop social and communication skills.

    Training times

    Tuesday 6:00pm-8:15pm @ Finsbury Park Track (11yr+)
    Thursday* 5:00pm-6:00pm @ Finsbury Park Track (7yr-10yr)
    *school term time only
    Thursday 6:00pm-8:15pm @ Finsbury Park Track (11yr+)
    Saturday 10.30am-12.15pm @ Parliament Hill Track (11yr+)
    For Sundays check with your coach before arriving
    Sunday 10:30am-12:30pm @ Finsbury Park Track (11yr+)
