87 runners in 2016 hot handicap

For once no thunderstorms threatened the midsummer 5K handicap race around Highgate Wood. An impressive turnout of 87 runners completed the course in temperatures hovering around the 30C mark. Elsewhere, we had a couple of runners in the City 5k, and Rich and Noelle in action in New York. We also had the latest events in the club triathlon / duathlon championships and 2nd place for Leigh in the Windmill Half Marathon.

Inter-counties match, club records and race-walking etiquette

13/07/2016 Heathsiders represented Middlesex with distinction in the inter-counties T & F match at the weekend. There was also another steeplechase record for AKS, north London bragging rights in the 'Race the Neighbours' 10k, and age and treachery at the Vets League.

Our annual 5k club handicap is on 19th July at Highgate Woods from 1900 hours - entries are now closed, but there's a social afterwards at The Wrestlers in Highgate from c. 2045. Come one, come all!
