17/5/2017 The main event of the weekend was the Middlesex Track and Field Championships at Lee Valley, where we had a great turnout, a decent haul of medals and some PB performances. Read on for a fairly sparse account, plus some inexpert attempts to abbreviate people's names.Read more...

May is with us, which means one thing: Crouch End 10k! This year's race is on 21 May.
The YMCA Crouch End 10k is a major local running event and an opportunity for us to raise our profile and attract new members. We need a BIG turnout of marshals for this long and complex course
Year on year, this event has grown thanks in no small part to the support of London Heathside and our team of volunteers.
- If you'd like to volunteer to help make the race a success, contact Dave Robertson on firstname.lastname@example.org
- The race is also part of the Rob Jackson Road Racing Champs (if you want to run, enter via http://my6.raceresult.com/57423/)
- If you want to volunteer and run - you can! As well as race-day marshals, we need people to help lay the course on Saturday 4 May. There are four free race entries (worth nearly 20 quid apiece) available for course layers. Contact Dave R (above) to snaffle one up, or for more info.
Top of the league - where we are, where we belong and where (with your help) we will stay!
Having missed out on a second successive promotion by a single place last year, the SAL team started our season with a fantastic away win, overcoming three other clubs including the home club, Cambridge who fielded a very competitive line-up. Every official and competitor were key in securing a close but well deserved victory.
We now need to keep up the momentum, for our second fixture in Hornchurch on Sunday 21 May [note: SUNDAY!]. If you are interested in competing or officiating please email our captains Noelle (email@example.com) and Tony (Tony.Killilea@os.uk). Athletes of every standard are welcome – we get so many points from consistently filing in events and even if your preferred event already has scorers, you are welcome to enter as a non-scorer.
Having a supporting group of officials is essential – you will help the team and do not need any prior qualifications. We need volunteers to perform simple tasks - e.g. javelin retrieval, high jump bar replacement. People may be asked to help out, as this is key for us to secure bonus points and also for our good standing in the SAL.
If you're one of the happy handful who've already committed their Sunday to Heathside's SAL promotion push and you need transport to the match, the coach will be leaving Finsbury Park from the Endymion Road entrance near the track as usual, and people should be there by latest 9:50.Read more...
